For more than 50 years, the chapel in Resurrection Mausoleum has been without a name. That was remedied on November 2, 2022, when Bishop Lou Tylka blessed and gave it a name, St. Joseph of Arimathea Chapel. Joseph is recorded in all four gospels and his story is one of bravery and generosity. When his friend died, he was bold and overcame any fear to go to the government authority, Pontius Pilate, to ask for his body. He lovingly took Jesus down from a cross and wrapped his ravaged body in linen. More than that, he took him to his own grave, one he'd prepared for himself. Bishop Tylka said, "It is here we do the same. We've prepared a fitting place to inter our loved ones until the time that the Lord comes again and brings us all to eternal glory."
