Cemetery costs and funeral costs are typically separate from each other. You should discuss with both your cemetery and funeral home any and all costs expected to be covered and paid by you and, what costs and/or services that will be covered by the cemetery and/or the funeral home.
A Typical burial purchase would consist of a space to hold a casket or cremation and a interment fee (opening and closing of the sapce).
Spaces would consist of a Single Lot (holds one casket or 1-3 cremations); a Lawncrypt (a double depth Lot to hold two caskets), a Columbarium (outside Niches for cremations), a Bench (holds 1-2 cremations).
Additional costs would be incurred when inurning a cremation. By Law, all cremations must be incased in an urn vault (protects cremation container from biodegrading). Also, additional interment fees are incurred when a burial takes place after regular hours of 9am-3pm, Monday through Friday. During the Winter, there is cost for heating the grave which is necessary for a digging as the ground is frozen. There is also a Location Fee that is charged when a marker/headstone is purchased from another vendor, and a Foundation Fee when ordering a Veterans Military marker.
Additional purchases would include a Marker/Headstone, Decorative Urn Vase, Bronze Emblems for Markers/Headstones.
There are many variations to make a purchase for one person or for many people. Variations may include package purchases which offers a discount when chosen this route. A package purchase could include a space, interment fee, marker/headstone. The Catholic Cemetery Association of Peoria will provide at no charge a tent and chairs for outside burials.
